The poem in Return to the Sea, written by the artist, is about the cycles of journey for water and humans, the endless cycles of birth and death for humans and water’s hydrologic cycles. Water is constantly moving from one state of being or place to another, so do humans. The same poem repeats on the back as debossed print on the black background, creating an endless loop.
This artists’ book has six unique editions. Each book uses original artwork as a background and has different placement of texts on pages. Each book is a unique, one-of-a kind artists’ book with the same poem.
