Ella Farman (1837–1907) was an American writer of children's literature according to Wikipedia. A White Hand: a story of noblesse oblige was published in 1875 in Boston. Farman is best known for editing Wide Awake magazine for 16 years, starting in 1875. She published 20 books mostly for children during her work as editor.
I didn't know any of this when I acquired the book, and knew nothing about Ella Farman or A White Hand. I believe the book was de-acquisitioned by a local public library, and I bought it. Then it was in my studio for many years until one day I decided to paint every page.
It had 260 pages, so I must have ended up with 130 pages of painted book pages. I ended up giving some away to friends and sold many pieces at my open studio. Most of these altered book pages were never documented.
Several years later, I documented what I was left with, and here they are.
