Series of twenty drawings
Graphite and mineral pigment on paper
10”x 10” each

This series deals with covering, decorating or hiding/revealing the self. These forms are wrapped in some kind of clothing, often wearing designer brand and equipped with scientific and medical devices.

One is wrapped in Christian Dior’s evening dress from 1950s, while other forms may be adorned with Marie-Louise Bruyère’s turban from 1944 or Paco Rabanne’s dress from 1967.

Playing on the words, self and cell, these forms take on a mocking view on genetic engineering and our desire towards designer genes.
